We bought three video monitors before this and all I did was make nice fuzz sound white noise, because each other with our Wireless Music System. This is 900mz once so quiet that you do not know her until the child makes a noise. But do not go down the volume, very quiet and only if their off or silent. So we have some 'tape over loudspeakers in the back, because we jump on our bedside table in my ear. 
The video is very clear light (color) ordark (black and white) in the room! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! There is also a channel A and B, so if you want two things on top of you always on the other channel (after buying another camera of course).
Overall, we love it and say its definitely a must have! I also like the video you can only turn the sound off and left when you stay in your room at night.
