Small Business

Have had this for a few years, and it does the job nicely. As mentioned by others, it comes with a full set of cables. You will likely want to add a long S-video or RCA cable unless you have your computer/laptop next to the TV.

Note that the audio connection is completely independent of this device, but that connection is easy. I just got a mini-plug to RCA adapter, and use that to feed the two stereo RCA connections to the TV from my laptop’s headphone output. Using a 3-circuit RCA cable, the other is for the NTSC composite output from the device to the TV. Picture would be better if you used an S-video cable instead, but it’s fine for playing back DVDs and other “regular” TV material.

However, as my review title suggests, your TV will simply not be as sharp as your computer screen. The TV just does not have that resolution. If it does, then go another route to make the connection.

The actual device is small. (The cables take up more space.) It travels well and turns your laptop into a portable DVD player.

Have had this for a few years, and it does the job nicely. As mentioned by others, it comes with a full set of cables. You will likely want to add a long S-video or RCA cable unless you have your computer/laptop next to the TV.

Note that the audio connection is completely independent of this device, but that connection is easy. I just got a mini-plug to RCA adapter, and use that to feed the two stereo RCA connections to the TV from my laptop’s headphone output. Using a 3-circuit RCA cable, the other is for the NTSC composite output from the device to the TV. Picture would be better if you used an S-video cable instead, but it’s fine for playing back DVDs and other “regular” TV material.

However, as my review title suggests, your TV will simply not be as sharp as your computer screen. The TV just does not have that resolution. If it does, then go another route to make the connection.

The actual device is small. (The cables take up more space.) It travels well and turns your laptop into a portable DVD player.

I bought this product to go with a Cinemin projector. It enables me to use the Cinemin with my Dell laptop or netbook. Shipping was fast and all necessary cables were included. I am not particularly savvy with hardware, but I was able to figure out all the connections and get the configuration to work. It sure beats carrying around a big PC projector.
