Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device (9.7″ Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation) Review

Special price available at Amazon

I was very unsure if I would like an e-book reader. I love books, especially the feeling of them and was not sure if the cost of an e-reader is worth it. E 'on multiple levels. (1) very easy to read in good lighting conditions. The default font size is perfect for me, and more ideal for low light conditions. I am moving around in my hands after reading a bit, 'but this is, I believe, rather than the size, weight (I use the Amazon Leatherwith him). (2) The Kindle Store has many old books that I have never read or find the location, on paper, and most are free or very cheap. I downloaded old science fiction and many old classics. Prices for newer versions seem reasonable, and I will definitely buy new releases for my favorite authors instead of waiting outside for the paperback. It would be nice, more sub-sections of the book for easy navigation. (3) When traveling, it's nice to havelarge number of books to choose from, depending on my mood.

The 'experiment' Internet surfing is OK, but slow. Since the pages are generally text-based, it may take some time to reach the desired position, and navigating back and do not always go where you believed. I have not tried a newspaper or a magazine subscription.

Tagging, the book features work well and navigation in most books is easy. Most paging is about 0.3 to 0.5 seconds, just very busy pageswith severe graphcs seems to require more time (up to one second). I do not see this as a problem with most books. I tend to place the Kindle in sleep mode, often just to see what's close to the screen saver, many are very interesting.

I had this Kindle for a month and still works the same letter of the battery charge (currently about 50%). I do not think you can be when done for the Whispernet connection, I wkith this unit for about an hour or so a day and were readonline approximately two hours total. We hope that the battery will maintain this performance for some time.

Overall, I would like the Kindle to 5 evaluation for hardware and software for a 4.5 rating / store. I suspect that I will continue to reach for the first printed book, but this e-book reader will certainly be with me for some time.
